I’m considering buying an ex-demo MT07 from the UK, but I’m not quite sure it makes sense.

So for example

Price (including UK VAT): 5500 GBP (approx 6300 EUR)

Registered: 09/17

VRT works out at approx 1000 EUR

VAT I guess is around the same in the UK (GB) as it is in Ireland (maybe 20% vs 23% ?) and I’d get them the deduct UK VAT at sales, so I don’t deal with VAT in my calculation.

Transport to Ireland is approx 350 EUR.

It adds up to:

6300+1000+350 = 7650 EUR

The new price in Dublin is approx 8300 EUR

650 EUR saving (or with some luck say 800 EUR) is good money.

However, does it make sense to sacrifice local warranty and introduce the complexity of dealing with Yamaha or the remote UK shop for any issues?
