Garda Mobility App goes 'live'

Garda Mobility App goes ‘live’

From the Meath Crime Prevention page:

“Meath Division Roads Policing Unit has started using the new Garda Mobility App. This hand held device gives Gardaí access to real-time information on the roadside relating to vehicles and motorists they encounter.

This evening at a checkpoint in Navan the App detected a disqualified Driver.

The new technology will force deviant drivers to “end the bluffing” and various excuses relating to addresses, penalty point history, vehicle status, NCT etc. The devices were initially piloted in Limerick Division by 50 Gardai for six months and are now being rolled out nationally.

We will keep you updated over the coming weeks regarding how the Mobility App performs in the hands of our Roads Policing Members.”
