I, like many others got an email from MCE stating that they were moving away from the Irish market due to Brexit uncertainties. I set about renewing my policy, on the day that it was due to expire – clever me!

I rang around and I was quoted €900 for third party only from one company and they wouldn’t offer any other option because they felt a KTM to a thief in Dublin would be like a pearl to a pirate 🙂

Anyways, after a couple more similar quotes, I said I’d ring MCE just in case. I should have done it earlier obviously but I’m usually on hold for a decade and couldn’t bear it. They told me that the goalposts have moved and they ARE offering cover to the Irish market for the foreseeable future! Quote was over half the price of all the others. Now I’ve never had to claim so I can’t vouch for the after service but I’m happy for the moment!
