Hi everybody, I am completely new to this forum and happy to be virtually acquainted. I am returning to Ireland after 24 years abroad in the coming weeks. I was planning to bring my old BMW K75 but alas was stolen on me in downtown Copenhagen. I am wondering if there is any advantage financially in bringing a bike in from Germany and paying the VRT in Ireland? The particular bike I am after is available there. I have read the Revenue Commissioners guidelines but still not sure if I have to pay Duty and VRT, or just VRT? Any guidance appreciated – as I said it has been a long time so I am sure many things have changed!
