Pinsert fogging

Pinsert fogging

Getting home tonight was a bugger. Water got into the helmet and the pinsert fogged up. Only about an inch across the top of the pinsert was clear, just enough to get me home at a very sedate pace.

Took a good look at the helmet once I got home and the pinsert is not fitting flush with the visor the whole way round. for about 2 inches there’s a very slight gap will will allow either water to get in or your breath to fog it up.

Is there any trick that I can use to fix this, or prevent fogging in the future.

putting a seam of vaseline around the edge came to mind, or applying bit of heat to warp the pinsert slightly so that its pushing against the visor.

The helmet is about a year old, Schuberth C4, and I would have thought that a pinsert should last longer than that. Or do I need to just bite the bullet and shell out for a new pinsert
