This may seem like a stupid question but I’ve been away from bikes for almost 10 years and am coming back like a complete newbie.

I’m trying to find decent mx boots but am struggling with where to even start. I’ve a top end budget of around €350 . I had been looking at the alpinestar tech7 and almost bought a pair until I saw some reviews saying they were fairly poor at keeping out water which obviously isn’t ideal in sunny old Ireland.

Does anyone have any recommendations on something else or are these actually quite decent and people are being overly critical?

On a side note im also looking at the ls2 helmets if anyone has any experience with them?
