New Evel Knievel documentary hits British TV

A NEW documentary on Evel Knievel is set to get its UK TV premiere on Friday May 29 to mark the 40th anniversary of his legendary Wembley Stadium jump.

Called I Am Evel Knievel the hour-and-a-half documentary was first shown in America last year but is getting its first UK airing. As well as footage from many of Knievel’s famous jumps the film includes contributions from many of the daredevil’s friends and family, including sons Kelly and Robbie as well first wife Linda and second wife Krystal. Others taking part include Willie G Davidson, Gary Davis and Robbie Maddison.

Kelly Knievel is currently in London to mark the 40th anniversary of Evel’s Wembley Stadium jump, which took place on May 26 1975, and was interviewed by the BBC this morning. You can listen here.

Meanwhile another Knievel documentary, Being Evel, which is produced by Jackass star Johnny Knoxville and made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival in January, is also one of the stars at the current Cannes Film Festival.
