WSBK 2015 Thailand race two results

JONATHAN Rea has scored a double victory at the second round of the 2015 World Superbike, winning both races at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand.

Rea claimed his 18th career win and extended his championship lead to 10-points after doing the double in Thailand.

The Ulsterman dominated the entire weekend after claiming pole position, fastest laps, leading both races along with two race wins.

Leon Haslam overtook Voltcom Crescent Suzuki rider and fellow-Brit Alex Lowes to take second place.

Tom Sykes finished race two in fifth place, just behind Aprilia’s Jordi Torres. Spaniard Torres fought hard to overtake former WSBK champion Sykes with two laps to go before finally making a successful move into turn three.

Clutch problems saw the reigning champion Sylvain Guintoli start from the back of the grid after missing the sighting lap. After a fast first lap he made it up to 12th place and finally finished in sixth, just ahead of his team-mate Michael van der Mark.

Matteo Baiocco, David Salom and Leandro Mercado fought for the most of the 20-lap race to shuffle about in the top 10, while Troy Bayliss finished just outside, in 11th place.

Chaz Davies suffered a second crash of the day early in the race but was again able to remount, finishing 15th.

Both Team Hero EBR riders Niccolo Canepa and Larry Pegram were unable to compete in race two due to engine issues.
