Blast from the past – Suzuki triples

Suzuki’s line-up of two stroke triples. The GT 750 was Suzuki’s response to the Honda & Kawasaki ‘superbikes’ of the late ’60s/early ’70s. The GT 550 & GT 380 were it’s mid range siblings. With hindsight, Suzuki should probably have gone down the four stroke route with these bikes, but they waited until later in the ’70s to produce their very successful GS range. The two stroke triples were designed as stylish tourers & they did look the part, but the days of two strokes were numbered. Tougher emissions laws & rising fuel costs both contributed to their demise. And those triples WERE thirsty. Nice bikes, though.
