Okay, the mechanic sent me the list of stuff needing attention on the ’88 Bros 400. Breakers priced it at €200, so I reckon I might use the bike to learn how to maintain and replace instead – would be better in the long run.

Front fork legs and seals

Chains and sprockets need replacing

Output shaft in gearbox needs replacing

Rear disc needs replacing

Rear caliper needs rebuilding

Carbs are currently off the bike and the seal kits were done. Float bowl was rotten and causing a fuel leak, but I think that’s fixed now.

There’s a fella with a full Bros for breaking up the road too, so how feasible is it for me to repair this myself or with help from one of you lovely fellas (for compensation of course)? Willing to spend €1000 to rescue this bike – what I budgeted for to begin with. If I can get this bike up to safe order I would be delighted.

I don’t want to give up just yet if there’s some value to be gleaned, monetary or knowledge-wise!
