Test / IBT Strategy for a newbie!

Test / IBT Strategy for a newbie!

Hey folks,

Was just having a look and trying to get my mind around the IBT and test structure (which is a nightmare).

Anyway, as a complete starter (but at 30yr old with an A provisional licence) – I’d prefer to start IBT at an A1 level and ride a 125cc for a bit. On the advice of an instructor I was speaking with, he suggested this might be the best place to start. Then pop back and do the A2 IBT jumping up to a 400cc or 500cc.

Am I correct in saying that if I then do the test on an A2 bike – I can at some point go back and do a further IBT on an A bike without the need to resit the test?

For my own peace of mind I’d like to work my way up as oppose to jumping straight onto a 600cc and landing on my back. I’d like to do it in 3 steps, but obviously with only 1 test, and making the test itself as easy as possible on the lowest power bike as possible.

Has anyone else done it this way and am I interpreting the rules properly?

Cheers!!:smileee:
