I’m looking to pick up something a bit more pillion and touring friendly than my trusty SV, but it also needs to be a bit of fun for when I am riding on me tod. Two bikes I am looking at currently are a nearly new BMW GS1200 Triple Black and a nearly new Triumph Tiger 800 XRT. Both are well loaded with goodies but have a €4.5k price difference, the Beemer being the pricier of the two.

Looking for opinions from owners of both bikes – what do you like/love/hate about them? What upgrades (if any) to the bike have you done that really improved it? Would you buy another one? Do you get that buzz of excitement before heading out for a spin on a sunny Sunday morning (that’s a deal breaker for me!)?

I’ll hang onto my SV as it still puts a smile on my face every time I take it out. And with it’s age and mileage it’s worth way more to me as a bike than as a wee bundle of cash.
