Desmond – Live from the NEC

Desmond – Live from the NEC

So, Motorcycle live came and went…. and what a hoot it was, apparently. All we got to see was Dublin airport and lots of examples of how supposedly civilized people crumble at the merest hint of adversity.

Our flight was meant to leave at 21.30, we got on around 10.15 but were stuck on the tarmac until 02.30. One chap emptied a large bottle of red in front of everyone and proceeded to call everyone caahnts in his best cockney. He felt bad about drinking the whole bottle by himself and tried to regurgitated it all back into the bottle, however, he missed and it ended up on the floor.

Then one passenger insisted we not fly, then other jibed in. Yet more insisted we fly. Finally the captain said he couldnt hold anyone to ransom and we were going back, even though we were first in the Q for take off if the winds died down. It took about two hours to get back on stand.

We went up to T2 as it was far less zoo like. The flight was moved to 08.00. At that point the cockney geezer <(“)> was looking sheepish and the non flying luddites were getting it in the ear from the fly even if we die brigade.

The flight was finally canned at 2pm Saturday. Went home, found I couldn’t get a refund on the IBIS centre hotel.

What a wonderful adventure it was. :bag:

Anyone else on here get shafted by Dessie?
