Irish Bike Test – In Need of a Bike

Irish Bike Test – In Need of a Bike

Okay, I realise this is a long shot, but why not ask…

Been driving my Africa Twin RD04 for 9 months now, I sit my full test on the 12th of July. In preperation for the test, I had a 3 hour pretest on Saturday morning where to my disgust I was told that the RSA categorises the XRV750 in a grey area between Cat A and Cat A2…basically my bike is too small to get a Category A license. I’m not impressed.

On Saturday morning I was offered a Yamaha Fazer 600 street bike to try that I could also use for the test…tried it, horrible to drive, obvioulsy a completely different style to the AT and for me a very uncomfortable bike.

So I’m trying to find someone in the Leinster area who might do a bike swap for a few days prior to the 12th. Something like an F800GS or similar dual sport would suit. My bike is a nut and bolt restoration, so not an old piece of junk and I would be as nervous swapping it as any other person would be swapping theirs, but I’ve learned there are some really good people in our biker community, so hopefully someone might be able to help me out of a bind.

Can discuss with you in further detail, but if you think you might be able to help drop me a line.

Thanks in advance,

Dar
