Looks like I bought another Lemon!!

Looks like I bought another Lemon!!

Wups I did it again:bag: Bought myself what seemed a nice clean original low milage for the year GSXR 750 K1 in April of last year. Ok it had a set of those high bars fitted which I promptly removed and put back to original. Had some paint flake off the generator cover but no sign of road rash which I was told by a couple of lads is common enough. I did notice a weep of oil around the bottom of the genny cover too but figured it just needed a seal. All the plastics were good with only the odd age related mark and all foot pegs, leavers and mirrors original with no damaged so happy days.

Apart from giving the bike a good cleaning when I bought it during which I noticed nothing out of the ordinary it’s been more or less sat in the shed since I as I have had a lot going on with building me new gaf and all so I wouldn’t have even put 200 miles on the bike.

Anyway I brought it down to a mates and we put it up on his ramp tonight to set about getting it ready for the season, service, fork seals and remove the genny cover for repaint just to tidy it up. When we removed the left side fairing we were greated by a lovely dent it the frame….oh fuck!!

Then we dropped the oil and set about removing the genny cover and discovered the lower gearbox casing had a lump gone out of it which had been filled with that mix up metal shite which had failed! We then noticed the windings had been replaced as we could see where "GSXR 750" wad written on then with tip ex at whatever breakers yard they were sourced from and hidden it behind the top fairing the left air intake was cracked and broken.

Obviously got a good wack on the left side, enough to dent the frame, smash the genny casing, windings and take a lump out of the lower gearbox casing!!! To say I’m pissed is a understatement, the fame damage alone I think makes it a technical write off and to think someone repaired the gearbox casing in such a way that could have blown out and dropped oil all over the back wheel and risked someone life!

So where do I go from here? Do I just suck it up or get on the blower to the guy I bought it from tomorrow? I’ve been caught once before but this bike complete fooled me and I know I prob don’t have a leg to stand on:devil:
