Milky Oil !!!!!!

Milky Oil !!!!!!

Hi everyone, as the name suggests I’m new to biking. I bought a 98 Virago 250 as a starter bike a few weeks ago. I’m not going to mention where I bought it – don’t want to slag anyone off but I noticed some things that I’m not happy about. Noticed that oil is milky and cloudy in sight glass, nearly had a heart attack – didn’t notice the day I bought it. Bike is under warranty for 6 months – when I rang dealer today he pretty much fobbed me off and said I’ll send you down 2 litres of oil and you’ll be grand kind of a thing.

I’m not that much of a pushover to be fair but said I’d do a bit of investigating first before I lost the plot. I’m worried about this. Bike is really clean and wasn’t big money to be fair. Only starting out so keeping it simple.

Should I be freaking out or is it just that bike was idle and condensation built up and a flush and oil change will fix this?

Also chain was really rusty when I cleaned off all the chain grease he had used – ordered new DID one and sprockets too. Don’t think it’s fair that I should be fixing this stuff myself, am I raving or should I fight my corner – wondering if its worth the hassle – might be better to fix this myself so I know its done right? Sorry for long post :rolleyes2:
