Anyways, the young lad and his mate have grafted a chinese 2 stroke engine kit on to a mountain bike ( pedal bike) and now have a fairly nifty little ….eh… motorized bicycle….thing.:wassat:
I seriously doubt this contraption can be used (legally) on the public roads, but does anyone know for sure? No, I’m not going to ask the local shades!
I seem to recall that electric bicycles are legally "assisted" bicycles if they can’t exceed a certain speed. The DT1 ( Death Trap 1) they have created can probably do 25 or 30 mph( 40/50kmh for you youngsters) and while they have no plans to take it down Patrick Street ( in Cork, like), we’re wondering if anyone has looked into the legality or otherwise of powered bicycles?:unsure2:
