New bike finance options re BMW S 1000R

Hi Guys,

Out of pure curiosity I popped into Joe Duffy to check out S1000R which I would consider a replacement for my Fazer 1000 when the time comes.

Pleasantries aside was given one for a test drive and in the mean time they evaluated my current bike for a trade in etc

Riding position is pretty relaxed and comfy with slightly more bent knees than on my current bike. No wind protection which is a huge drawback for me but a windscreen could be retrofitted and loads of options there.

Now the engine is fantastic. It’s very powerful and the bike is extremely quick and loads of torque which was a nice surprise given the engine revvy character. The exhaust burps nicely on downshifts. Suspension is electronically adjustable you can select hard, comfort and soft etc but it’s generally tuned on hard side. Even in soft setting it’s quite hard.

Now when coming back I was given trade in value which was pretty decent for 2005 bike I thought but the financing options were crazy…. Where are the days when there was 0% interest at all car and bike dealers? The interest is 8% annually and given almost 0% for deposits and record low ECB rates it’s bizzare. Formerly car manufacturers related banks like VW, opel ect were helping out in purchase offering 0% in many instances…

Rant over

Paul
