Ive been parking in front of my school for nearly 2 years now, bikers before for nearly 4, and no problems have arisen. Today as I walked out of my second last class I saw a fella with a high-viz helmet out of the gates of my school, taking pictures and writing fines to students cars that have parked in front of the school. While the crowd from inside the gates were shouting abuse at the guy, he finished up taking his snaps and clipping fines to wipers, he rode off happily. Unfortunately, my bike was parked perpendicular to the kerb between the cars.

Quickly running to my bike after last class had finished I was expecting a big fat 40 euro fine to be lodged in between the tank and seat, or pinched somewhere by the clocks, or even clamped at the front brake disc, trying to think imaginatively of how the guy could have let me know I was fined, but there was nothing! No clamp, no ticket, nothing.

So did he just look past my bike, or should I expect a letter in the post from the almighty Cork County Council?
