Iv been looking at getting a new bike and have a budget of about 8k for something 2nd hand as I use the bike as my main form of transport.

Been looking at getting a R1200GS….

But iv looking in the dealers triumph and joe Duffy and they are offering pcp (personal contract plan) it’s basically renting the bike for 3 years with an option of buying it at the end (but you’ll be paying about 2/3 the price of it new) or just handing it back and walking away or starting another 3 year contact on a new bike.

So basically you could have a brand new r1200gs or triump explorer 1200 for about €50 a week….only thing is if you bin it your stuck with the payments..but I suppose insurance could help with that..

I know being irish most of us see renting houses or anything as "dead money"…

But what ye make of it?

Anyone here doing it or have experience of it?
