Recommedations on a big old GT Tourer

Recommedations on a big old GT Tourer

Myself and the Brother in Law are gonna do Sturgis in North Dakota this year. I refuse to ride a Harley so am in the market for a used GT tourer something like a Concours 14 , FJR 1300 etc. Now I know the market here is a bit different from there in choice but I think most bikes there are here, just different names.

The main things to consider are

1) Pillion Room , Susan is coming along , one of her knees is a bit dodgy, so she will need some good legroom

2) Smooth at around 80-100 EmPeeH, that’s the typically cruising speed heading west from Ohio, especially when you get out West, if you are on the slab. However my BIL will be on a Harley, sp maybe have to go a bit slower :lbhbh:

3) Bike has to have some handling ability. When we get there, meant to be some good biking roads around the area.

4) Probably should include hard bags

I’m not looking at spending a ton of money, I’ll more then likely sell it on when done, so anything in the last 10 years to be considered.

Approx 1300 miles each way plus whatever we do around the area.

AS a point of reference I had a first generation concourse with the 1100 motor and was not overly impressed by it, not enough motor in it. I had a quick go on a 1400 Concourse and was impressed , just don’t know enough about them , same for the FJR1300 or even a BMW

Thanks Lads
