Some advice for a first time driver in ireland

Some advice for a first time driver in ireland

Hello all,

I moved to Ireland from Croatia a month ago on my own in search of a better life. One of my first priorities is getting a cheap bike to get arround.

I need it for deliveries as i was offered that as a side job, im living in Cork and plan to stay for quite some time since i love it here and people are nice.

In Croatia i have rode bikes since i was like 8, im 17 atm.. I have a a1 license and its an EU standard so its fully valid here and can be switched for a irish one any time… I had a aprilia rs125, gillera runner 50,125 aprilia sr 50, yamaha r6…

My questions are:

What cc would be the most economic on tax (im thinking 50cc, but 125 would be a lot more usefull for deliveries)

What are general tax prices for 50 and 125cc scooters?

What is the tax difference for an eu citizen?

How much should i expect the insurance costs to be?

What year-make scooters to look for?

How does the buying process work, do i buy first and then get insurance?

Can i buy a scooter myself at 17?
