VRT for Dummies

Erm, yeah, as the title says, I need an explanation for dummies please.

Do I understand it right that I have to drive the unregistered Bike to a NCT-Centre (Blarney would be the one) to get it registered? :unsure2:

I mean, I actually can drive the unregistered Bike to the NCT? I don’t have to put it on a trailer or so?

Thats how it would work in Germany so I’m a little bit confused. In Germany you can’t drive anything anywhere when its not registered.


Insurance: I was thinking of starting to ring the companies and find the best offer but the bike isn’t registered yet so do I wait until I have my Irish plates or shall I just ring them and explain the situation and see what happens?


I tried to understand how this VRT-Business works, what I will have to pay but numbers are not really mine favorites so help, please… :bag:

The bike is on the road since May 1997 and it is a 650cc.

So…. what will I pay for it?


I’m getting the papers for the bike in the next days per Post. What can I do already with the papers until the Bike is here too?

As far as I understand I need the VRT first before I can do anything else? :unsure2: So I wait for the Bike to arrive…?
