Bought myself an RMZ450 there the other week, got it cheap due to an apparent problem with third gear, it wasn’t entirely apparent what the issue was and I didn’t want to risk riding it in case it was something serious so I’ve pulled the engine and split it and after a good bit of inspecting the only suspect looking thing I can find is the wear on the 3rd and 5th gear dogs.

My experience inside gearboxes is limited enough but would this be enough to cause it to start slipping out of gear? selector forks and drum all look pretty good, little bit of wear on the selector forks too, I’ll get some photos of that later.
