BikeBitsNI Sign Sheils for 2015 Campaign
BikeBitsNI Racing have signed Dublin based Derek Sheils for their 2015 motorcycle racing season campaign.
Sheils has been a major force on the Irish Road Race scene in recent years, with a highlight being crowned superbike champion on the irish roads in 2013. He will return to the ‘roads’ in 2015 onboard Kawasaki machinery in both Superbike and Supersport classes with BikeBitsNI Racing.
Fielding both Kawasaki ZX6R and ZX10R machinery, BikeBitsNI Racing will make their full debut on the road racing scene with Sheils as they take in the iconic Isle of Man TT races, Ulster Grand Prix and selected Irish national road races. The County Down based team also continue with their short circuit roots, as they contest the Adelaide Masters series with Sheils, who was also crowned superbike champion in the series back in 2013.
"I’m really excited for the 2015 season now. We’ve got a top class rider, really good bikes and I think that we’ll have a really strong package all round. I sat down with Derek a couple of weeks ago and we worked out a deal. It’ll be a new challenge for us as a team especially with the road racing but I’m looking forward to the season and getting stuck in. A massive thanks to all of our sponsors, both those who have been with us for many years and also those new who have came onboard for 2015." commented Annett.
BikeBitsNI Racing will also field a sole attack on the Irish Short Circuit Supertwin championship with 2013 Production Twin champion Daniel Annett onboard a Suzuki SV650..
