MV Agusta withdraws from BSB

Dave Tyson and the MV Agusta UK team have withdrawn from the remainder of the 2018 Dickies British Supersport series.

The team doesn’t have sufficient budget to complete the season so, rather than try to wing it, Tyson has decided discretion is the better part of valour.

Quote:

“The situation with sponsors early on in the season set us back, however we managed to find a partner to fulfil the position for the rest of the year,” said Tyson, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“Cadwell was a disaster as we were a no show with Alastair injured and then Taylor crashed in first practice. The sponsors we had agreed a deal with decided the no-show wasn’t acceptable and wanted to renegotiate but nothing has, so far, been forthcoming.

“I don’t want increase any team debts so unless there is an injection of funds we are unable to continue in the 2018 championship. This is not ideal but we are unable to risk further losses.”

Unfortunately this leaves Alastair Seeley without a ride for Silverstone
