The Norton racing team was at Jurby on Tuesday carrying out tests to the Aprilia-engined SG2.

Test rider Steve Plater rode numerous laps round the exposed 1.8-mile club course, while seven-time TT winner Mick Grant – contracted by Norton in 2014 in a management and development capacity – said he was delighted with the way the bike was going.

Jurby was used for trying out the bike’s new electrical system as there are apparently stringent noise restrictions for testing at the factory’s Donington Hall base.
