The DMTC Rider's Rally 2016 Date change

The DMTC Rider’s Rally 2016 Date change

The Rider’s Rally traditionally held on the August Bank Holiday weekend is moving to the weekend of the 24th-26th June. The decision to change the date has been made primarily because of increasing costs and to avoid bank holiday traffic. The 2016 Riders is the 42 running of the Rally. The Riders is a unique 1000km Point to Point Rally and is primarily a camping event but accommodation is available to pre book.

The first check point will be Feerick’s Hotel on the N4 at Rathowen between Mullingar and Longford. The checkpoint will open at 1pm on Friday 24th June and close at 10am on Saturday 25th June. The Rally will have overnights on the Friday and Saturday nights and will finish on the Sunday with awards and food available. There will be no pre arranged camping on the Sunday night but limited accommodation not pre booked will be available at good B&B rates for anyone wanting to stay over. The format will be the same as previous years but by finishing on the Sunday it will help keep costs down. Being near mid year will give plenty of day light hours for home journeys. The Riders is an ideal way to pick up Photo Rally subjects. Further details about entry forms and entry fees will be posted here in next few weeks – this post is primarily to advise of date change. Further details can be found at http://www.dmtc.ie There is also a Riders page on gaydar
