Back to the alps

Back to the alps

We’re heading back to the alps next week, the Austrian alps this time.
Three of us on lambrettas and a couple of lads in the backup/luggage van leaving Belfast Sunday morning and meeting up with another couple of lads on lambrettas to catch the ferry from Newcastle that afternoon.
Monday is a motorway slog to Koblenz where we’ll celebrate our arrival in Germany with a beer or two.
Tuesday we plan to take our time and ride up the Rhine for a bit then take the motorway to Würzburg where we’ll meet up with some lads from Manchester for some beers.
Wednesday is another relaxed day as we head south along the romantic road as far as Augsberg (or lansberg if we need spares) then hit the motorway across to Munich. Some beer may be sampled that evening I’d imagine.
Thursday morning we’ll blow off the cobwebs with a blast down the motorway before heading into Obersalzberg for a bit of lunch at the eagle’s nest. Then it’s a bit of pootling along into Austria past mountains and lakes until we reach Ebensee.
Three days of scooter rally which traditionally involves beer
Then Sunday we’ll take the autobahn all the way to Nuremberg (we may or may not be drinking beer that night)
Monday will be a killer, 300 miles of autobahn to Aachen where we plan to chill out on our last night on the continent with a beer.
Tuesday we’ll be racing up to Amsterdam to catch the ferry to England.
Wednesday we’ll squeeze what life is left out of our poor scooters in an attempt to get the ferry home again.
Can’t wait. :woots:
