Hello all, new here .. just got new (’04 new to me) 1150rt. She’s sounding a bit rough, tickover is low sometimes cutting out when idling.

Quick google tells me lots about stick coils failing (did I say twin spark ?) causing it to run rough as only one spark firing.

Tried metering cable to main spark and getting 12V ok, tried disconnecting cable (ie disabling plug ??) engine sounds just the same …. repeated this on other side and same result.

Would ye think it might be reasonable to assume neither main spark firing hence both stick coils gone ?? :think:
