Brake Piston Cleaning

Brake Piston Cleaning

I’m going to strip the front brakes, remove and clean the pistons and bleed the system as it’s overdue and I’m starting to get some sticking. Brakes binded on me already, probably road shite getting up in there with the weather the last while. I’ve cleaned out the calliper itself but didn’t help it’s most likely piston sticking.

I’ve been advised to replace the seals as well for 2 reasons; I might wreck em getting them out and they should be replaced every few years anyway apparently.

1. Where’s the best place to pick up brake calliper seals for a 2008 Hayabusa?

3. DOT 4 brake fluid, is there a better or worse type or is it all the same?

2. Some say not to use a conventional brake cleaner to clean the pistons, is anything else recommended?

Want to get sorted asap as I need the bike every day and don’t want to warp the discs, the rubbing is getting pretty bad.

Cheers!
