I can’t get the FJR to start. Bike’s being lying up for a few months although battery seemed to crank it over no problem but it wouldn’t start before the battery went flat. I charged the battery back up for a day or 2 and tried again with the same story. Battery voltage is going down to 8.5 when engine is cranked so thought this might be a bit low. Next thing I was gonna try was hook a car battery up to the bike’s cables via jump leads – I can’t get the jump leads on with the bike battery installed so I was wondering if it was OK to totally replace the bike battery with a car battery momentarily just to see if the bike would start? – or would this f*ck up the charging system or the battery?
