Have my Ktm nearly two years now..great bike but the low down snatchiness of the throttle always annoyed me so after looking at various Ktm forums and seeing what Kevxtx had done to a SMR and SMT I got buying

Got a tune ECU cable off airmax is gay
Downloaded tune ecu free
Bought a base plate, air filter, small breather filter , shorter rc8 stacks and sas blanking plates

Ripped out the standard airbox, removed the throttle bodies so I could completely remove the secondary throttle butterflies. Removed the sas system and fitted the blanking plates. Then refitted the throttle body, I fitted new base plate and oiled and installed my new foam filter. Put bike back together and connected up to the laptop. Downloaded one of kevxtx’s maps that matched all my changes exactly. Downloaded this onto the bike and done a 15 min reset

Then came the time for a test run
It may have been only 1 degree outside but out I went and holy fuck what a differance…it revs much free’r, much smoother low down and the engine breaking isn’t as severe…oh and the noise will kill old ladies as you pass and open the throttle.

Happy out…just going to check the air/fuel ratio on the gas analyser in work to make sure it’s not running rich/lean
