Laserline Alarm Fooked

Laserline Alarm Fooked

I’ve been away for a week but, Murphy’s Law, my Laserline immobiliser alarm on my Transalp stopped working the night before I left so I can’t start the bike. My dad tried too a few says later but no joy. I’m home tomorrow afternoon and need it sorted ASAP. I need to know the options.

I’ve seen threads here talking about taking it out, but isn’t the whole point of an immobiliser that it’s made in such a way as to ensure the bike won’t start if you do that?

Failing that, who fixes these? I’ve googled it and found a lad, Frank Lawless in Rathgar, but I’m out past Swords so that’s a long way away.

What kind of money are you talking to have these serviced/fixed?

Can you get them altered? I like having an alarm but it seems pointless having an immobiliser on a bike with a HISS system. It’s only asking for the kind of problem I have now.

Also, does anybody know if breakdown assistance on insurance covers alarm failure? I’m with Liberty.
