My F650GS is having a bad month of it

My F650GS is having a bad month of it

It all started with the ignition switch going at Christmas. This meant the bike would intermittently not switch off after turning the key and eventually drained the battery. The battery hasn’t been the same since with me having to carry jump leads since the weekend. Now this evening, on my way home the bike cut out. Before this I noticed at some point the engine would fade slightly while I was slow riding. When I revved too high with the clutch half way, it cut out.

I’ve just taken the battery out of the bike and connected it up to a charger. When I started charging, it took 30 sec to tell me it was but, but also shows an ‘internal Open Cell’ fault alert on the display. Then I put it back in the bike and connected the charger to get a voltage reading before and after starting the engine. It pretty much looks good when I do this (but I’m not sure this is because its charging, it doesn’t say it is on my charger). Anyway, Im going to check the voltage in the morning again.
Any experience of the cutting out issue when using the clutch to ride slow?
