Prices for Translap engine parts

Prices for Translap engine parts

Long story short, my ’99 Transalp in Spain was burning oil, the engine was taken apart and there’s loads of parts I need.

My English mechanic in Spain has fooked about for months and he’s only after getting a quote from Honda Granada on parts and I’m ready to head into Africa on the bike in two weeks so I don’t want to delay.

If I leave it up to him to check other options I could be weeks waiting. The parts are coming in pretty expensive though, so looking to see if I can get the stuff cheaper on line. It’s all coming in close to 700 euro so wondering can I knock a hundred or two off that.

These are the prices quoted (I saw the email from Honda)

Gaskets A ; 157 euro

Gaskets B ; 75 euro

Valve Stem Oil Seals Inlet X4 ; 37 euro

Valve Stem Oil Seals Exhaust x2 ; 19 euro

Rings and Piston ; 122 euro each

Front camshaft ; 250 euro

Crank shaft bearings and Not Con-Rod ; no price yet but he reckons around 60.

He reckons that the bearings and gaskets need to be original Honda parts but the rest don’t have to be.

I’m looking at Wemoto http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/honda/xl…ransalp/99/and David Silver https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/…TRANSALP-1999/, but to be honest, I don’t know what I’m looking at. I have zero mechanic know-how so if the words aren’t exactly what’s on my list, I’m not sure if it’s the right thing.

If anybody could tell me what’s there that I’m looking for or if there’s options elsewhere, it would be great
