Rust appearing on front fork

Rust appearing on front fork

I have a 2016 DL650 which I picked up on Paddy’s day and I’m starting to notice some rust on the front forks already (pics attached), nothing too bad but concerning all the same. Bike’s on the road 7 days a week so it does spend a fair share of time out in the rain (can’t really be avoided in this Country! :lbhbh:), and I’m in rented accommodation so I don’t have a garage unfortunately. I’m just wondering if it’s normal for rust to be developing on the forks already. I’ve come across a few posts on here and elsewhere about treating rust on forks and everybody seems to have different ideas on what’s the best approach with some people suggesting using WD40 and others saying use something like Autosol (Autosol polish) which should provide a protective finish. Anybody care to offer an opinion on the best way to treat the problem and more importantly to nip it in the bud before it gets any worse.
