I have a vtec vfr. Recently it has been hard to start sometimes because the electrics don’t come on with the key. If i wiggle the key in the on position, it gets power and then stays on with no more problems. I got caught out tonight though on my way home from work. I pulled in to fill the tank and the bike wouldn’t start again. No amount of fiddling with the key would get it to start. The FI light would sometimes flash and i could hear a relay buzzing behind the clocks somewhere as i was messing with the key. It eventually started after about 20 mins of trying and seems to be working fine again…for now.

Would it be the ignition switch that’s dodgy or something else? I don’t think it’s the key that’s the problem because it turns freely and feels like it "snaps" into the on and off position like you would expect it to.
