Howdy, looking for a few pointers. 85 XLX250R that I picked up early in the summer. Has dual carb RFVC engine. Starts no bother.

Lately when warm she sometimes holds revs – not dropping back when throttle released, it will go back after a few blips and when it does sit at idle if I crack it open she will die instantly. If rev’d slowly then its grand and once the revs are up a little there’s no bother.

Wondering if something is sticking in the carb, will do a rebuild over the winter on it but if theres any quick checks I’d much appreciate it.
