Hi guys. My daughter is mad to get on 2 wheels. She’s old enough, smart enough and enthusiastic enough and I’m going to support her. Off road really isn’t an option to get her started as the whole trials and mx thing needs weekends and more money than is available.

Her plan is to do the theory, get the license, and set up the IBT over the next year or so.

My plan is supply the bike and gear, help her fix up the yoke to my satisfaction, but she’ll do all the spanner work herself. I’ll also insure her for year 1. After that we’ll see how she’s doing.

Now the big barrier is how to convince the missus that I’m not trying to kill our first and only born. She is not a biker. She knows how much it means to me but she is still trying to get used to the idea that my daughter pillions with me on occasion. She also tends to over react massively and I’m really worried that this will send her over the edge.

Any advice to soften the blow or any words of wisdom I’m all ears!
