Lads this is now starting to p1ss me off. 2012 DL650 I bought end of last year in great nick from the UK. Running great but me and the tank lock are having issues.

Maybe I’m retarded but maybe someone has an idea. I’m not on drugs by the way – the lock on the tank will not open randomly. I haven’t done massive mileage since I got her but it’s happened a few times and once I had to nurse it home as I couldn’t open it at a garage.

I’ve gotten into the habit of testing it now before I go out. Was out this afternoon. Tried before I headed off. 2/3 miles to the station and the fucking thing wouldn’t open. Had it on the centre stand, I can press it down to take the pressure off the catch – no joy. Key won’t turn. Put it on the side stand and it opened as it that should make any difference!!!

WTF is going on, this was with the newer key as I swapped them given the last time. Any ideas?? New barrel for it?? She has 48k Kam on it so has had a few fills. Could it be worn that badly? What’s the best way to clean it out and lube it?
