Suzuki GSXS1000 and GSXS1000F recall
SUZUKI has launched a recall of the GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F over a potentially faulty radiator hose.
The recall affects 174 bikes in the UK, which will be fitted with a new hose free of charge.
A release just issued buy Suzuki says: ‘The recall affects 174 registered motorcycles in the UK, and has been instigated due to a radiator hose clearance concern.’
The GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F are naked and faired versions of the same machine, using a 2005 GSX-R1000 engine. The GSX-S1000 is the naked variant while the GSX-S1000F has full-fairing and is billed as ‘comfortable sports bike’ by Suzuki.
Suzuki’s release includes no details of issues that may arise as a result of the ‘radiator hose clearance concern’.
It says: ‘Despite no reported issues in the UK, customer safety and satisfaction is the highest priority, and Suzuki has elected to commence a recall to fit a new component to avoid any potential issues in future.
‘Customers affected with officially imported and registered machines will receive a letter from Suzuki shortly after the modification parts arrive, advising them to contact their local authorised Suzuki dealership, who will carry out the fitment of the new component free of charge. The work will take less than one hour to complete.’
