Been looking at some of their mid 90/early 2000s sports bikes. In terms of performance and handling (and I suppose overall spec) – which of the bigger 900/100cc dukes does the Mille compare most closely to ?

Chassis wise I imagine there’s not a huge amount separating them (other than whether they’ve got high spec shocks fitted) so reckoned it would probably boil down to the engine spec.

With fuel injection and water cooling, I’m guessing the Mille is all-round a better bike than the older 900SS. I don’t know the exact differences between the 916 and the later 996 – but based on s/h prices, I’d hazard a guess the overall riding experience and performance is probably on a par with something like an early 996.

Close – or off the mark altogether ?
